Learning Disabilities

Learning Disabilities

The majority of people with learning disabilities were born with them or acquired them shortly after birth. They may struggle with comprehending, learning and remembering, making it difficult for them to communicate, learn new things, and occasionally even perform physical activities.

Family carers generally provide the majority of care for their loved ones with learning disabilities which can be challenging and demanding. Our devoted specialist carers are knowledgeable and highly trained, providing the help and support which will enable you or your loved ones to broaden their horizons and live as independently as possible.

As each person with learning disability will need a different kind of help, our carers will provide a bespoke support and assistance with:

  • Paying bills
  • Cooking
  • Safety supervision
  • Use simple language, colours and pictures when communicating
  • Help and supervise with light household duties
  • Access to resources
  • Respite break
  • Challenging behaviour
